What We Do
Working each and every day toward the aspiration of “Safe Kids, Sound Futures,” PEI Kids serves more than 14,000 Mercer County children and their families each year. Whether our client is an innocent little girl being molested, a frightened teenager living in an unsafe environment, a lonely toddler in foster care eager to visit his siblings, a shy middle-schooler being lured by gang culture, or a threatened 10-year-old mercilessly taunted by her classmates, PEI Kids counsels and supports children at the most vulnerable times in their lives.
To ensure continuity of care for the children and families we serves, PEI Kids’ staff works collaboratively with partner agencies, including Family Guidance Center, CONTACT of Mercer County, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), HomeFront, Womanspace, Rise Community Action Center of Hightstown, and Catholic Charities – El Centro. PEI Kids also enjoys strong relationships with Rutgers University, Rider University, and Temple University, through which it receives MSW student interns annually. The Bonner Center for Civic and Community Engagement at The College of New Jersey, which provides Bonner scholar student mentors and Americorps VISTAs, is also a partner of PEI Kids. These working relationships help reduce costs and increase the overall effectiveness of our efforts.
